Mena Alexandra Suvari, born on 13 February 1979, in America is an actor, fashion designer and a model. After launching her acting career Mena Alexandra Suvari starred in guest roles for 1990s TV shows Boy Meets World and High Incident. The actress made her debut in film in 1997's documentary Nowhere. She made the transition to major roles with her performances as a character in American Beauty for which she was nominated for an BAFTA Award and American Pie each of which garnered her wider attention. She has appeared with the co-star of American Pie Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) and then played the main character for the film Sugar & Spice (2001). She also appeared in Spun the drama by an independent company and 2004's thriller Trauma. In addition, she was a part of HBO's drama series Six Feet Under in 2004 she received a nomination as an Outstanding Cast at the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, she was part of several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the adaptation film to The Garden of Eden. Suvari is the actress for Lancome cosmetics and print ads in the brand's Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured in a variety of fashion magazines as well as blogs including Vogue. She has long been an advocate and supporter to the African Medical and Research Foundation. In addition, she is involved in issues of female empowerment and is involved with charities whose cause is breast cancer, and the End Violence Against Women campaign.
